According to different flange sealing surface types, commonly used flanges include raised face flanges (also called flat flanges), concave and convex face flanges, and tongue and groove face flanges. The sealing surface of the raised face flange is flat, and the contact area with the gasket is large. After pre-tensioning, the gasket is easy to stretch or move to both sides, and the sealing performance is poor. It is only suitable for low pressure occasions. Concave-convex flanges and tongue-and-groove flanges have better sealing performance and are suitable for higher pressure occasions.
Judgment method: First, look at the height of the protrusion (protrusion), and second, look at whether there are anti-skid rings on the protrusion (convex surface). And the two types of flange connection are also different. The former has a raised surface when the two flanges are connected, and the latter has a convex surface and a concave surface.
